Neal 'Paddy' Patterson
Everybody at the Leicestershire Law Society is deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague Neal “Paddy” Patterson on 15 August 2025.
Paddy was a valued member of the LLS committee for some years, and worked locally prior to a move to Wright Hassall in 2023. Paddy’s reputation as an outstanding solicitor continued to grow at Wright Hassall where he was a partner and headed up the family, farms and estates, private client and residential property teams.
Paddy was an incredible supporter of The Wooden Spoon charity, running the London Marathon for the charity in 2024 and only a few weeks ago, took part in the Longest Game of Rugby as part of a Guinness World Record. Paddy’s fundraising made a huge difference across Leicestershire thanks to the local work of The Wooden Spoon charity. I know the charity will miss him hugely, and the events, with Paddy in his Wooden Spoon blazer, will never be the same
For me, I will remember Paddy for his kindness, his sense of humour and his warmth. We would regularly met up at Parkrun or at our Tuesday night running club, and he was kind enough to often slow down so we could run together and talk. We shared a love of tractors, and Paddy taught me a lot about Massey Ferguson tractors – two grown men talking tractors as we ran around Victoria Park must have sounded very odd. He was a dear friend, and so many of us will miss him hugely.
All of our thoughts are with his wife Bridget and the family at this time, and we will, in time, arrange to celebrate Paddy’s life for the joy he brought to so many of us.
